PONTIAC (WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office has released dashcam video of three suspects fleeing following a police chase. Deputies were investigating after two people, a man and a women, were injured in a shooting on April 1.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. Deputies went to the 600 block of Palmer Drive in Pontiac on a report that a woman was shot. When they arrived, the woman was in the doorway with a gunshot wound to her hip.
A deputy who was responding to the scene of the shooting located the suspect vehicle driving away from the scene. The suspect vehicle did not stop and a police chase ensued.
The deputy pursued the suspect vehicle for a short distance before the three occupants inside exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Deputies discovered an AR-15 rifle in the back seat of the vehicle and two semi-automatic handguns.
A K-9 unit was called in to search for the suspects, and one was located. That suspect, who was wearing body armor, was taken into custody. The other two suspects are still on the loose. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information on their whereabouts leading to an arrest.
The injured woman, a 22-year-old, was taken to McLaren-Oakland Hospital where she underwent surgery and is listed in serious but stable condition. Deputies say the second victim, a 25-year-old man who was treated at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, was uncooperative when questioned by authorities.
The suspect who was arrested is described as an 18-year-old man who is a resident of Pontiac. There was no description available for the other two suspects.
