Suspects enter unlocked garage, steal tools from Ypsilanti Township home

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is searching for suspects involved in the burglary of an Ypsilanti Township home.

On Jan. 8 around 3:35 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Bergen Avenue area for a burglary report. Deputies say between 10 p.m. Jan. 7 and 5 a.m. Jan. 8, unknown suspects entered an unlocked garage and stole recreational equipment and tools.

The suspects escaped in an unknown direction.

The Sheriff's Office encourages residents to lock their garages and vehicles to prevent theft.
