Suspects smash and grab at business that provides helping hand to community on Detroit's east side

Posted

Smash-and-grab robbers trashed a store known for giving customers a helping hand on Detroit's east side.

The suspects used an SUV to ram into the Kwik Stop Liquor store, 6250 E. 7 Mile Road, at around 5 a.m. Thursday morning. They backed into the front of the building twice to break it down, according to reports.

Once inside, at least three suspects stole liquor, cigarettes and cash.

Loyal customers say the owner is good to the community and they hate to see the business come under attack.

Repairs to the building are expected to cost thousands of dollars.
