Suspects identified after defacing grave sites of President Ford & wife Betty in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WXYZ) — UPDATE: Grand Rapids police have identified the suspects caught on video defacing the grave sites of President Gerald R. Ford and First Lady Betty Ford.

Officers say the men came forward and are cooperating with investigators. Kent County prosecutors will review the case.

Grand Rapids police are looking for a man and woman they say are wanted for defacing the grave sites of President Gerald R. Ford and First Lady Betty Ford on the west side of the state.

According to police, the incident happened on March 27 around 4:07 p.m., based on surveillance video. Both President Ford and his wife, Betty, have their grave sites outside of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum in downtown Grand Rapids.
