Suspects wanted for stealing rent checks from Madison Heights community

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Detectives are searching for two suspects caught on video stealing checks from a community office drop box in Madison Heights.

On Feb. 3 around 3:09 a.m., two suspects broke into the community office drop box and stole at least four rent checks deposited by residents, totaling more than $3,000.

The men used something to reach into the drop box and pull out the checks, police say. There was no damage to the box.

Police provided this description of the suspects:

White male thin to medium build, approximately 25-35 years old, 5’9”- 6’0”, wearing a white coat with hood, baseball cap, jeans with a light colored belt, and light colored boots. White male medium build, approximately 25-35 years old, 5’10”- 6’2”, wearing a two tone colored zip up hoodie, light colored knit cap, and newer looking two tone athletic shoes.
