Neighbors in an apartment complex in Taylor are fearing for their safety after waking up to Swastikas painted on their doors.

It happened at The Ponds off of Eureka Road.

“That is a Nazi sign. That’s not an “X” none of that, that’s a Nazi sign,” said Anya Marable.

Marable came home from work around 1 a.m. Friday morning and saw something on her door but it didn’t hit her at first.

“That’s not the first thing that popped up in my head that that what it was,” she explained. “I thought it was just graffiti.”

When she took a second look that’s when she saw it was a poorly drawn swastika.

It wasn’t just on her door but five out of the seven doors on one side of building #17 at The Ponds complex.

Some questioned if the poorly drawn Swastika meant to be a symbol of hate.

Neighbors say the two doors that were spared have white families living there.

Nanette Grier’s daughter was targeted too.

“Everybody that is a minority on this part had a sign on their door,” she said.

The residents didn’t call police, they called the apartment management who painted over the doors by the afternoon.

Marable explained, “Just covering it up is not doing enough, you understand? I live here, we have kids they want to know what this stuff is.”

Marable tells us two minority-owned cars were also vandalized.

They feel whoever targeted them has been keeping a close eye on this building and the residents who live there.

“It feels like somebody is watching, you know. Being hateful, spiteful they are just watching,” Marable added.

The residents are left feeling uneasy until they get some answers.
