Teen injured while riding bicycle after hit-and-run incident in Superior Township

SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Police are looking for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident in Superior Township.

On July 9, police say a 15-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident was riding his bike on Prospect Road crossing Clark Road in Superior Township when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Witnesses told police that the suspect vehicle appeared to slow own as if it were going to stop and then continued west on Clark Road after striking the cyclist. According to witnesses, the teen was proceeding through the intersection and had the right of way when he was hit.

Police describe the suspect driver as a man approximately 30 to 40 years old. Police say the suspect vehicle has been located.

The teen was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be a broken leg, but was in stable condition.
