DETROIT (WXYZ) — A teen is in temporary serious condition after allegedly approaching an off-duty Detroit police officer with two other males.
The off-duty officer then fired shots at the three suspects and the 16-year-old was hit.
The incident happened Nov. 5 just after noon in the 6000 block of Brace.
According to a preliminary investigation, the off-duty officer was parked in a vehicle when the three suspects approached him on foot and one of the males pointed a gun at the officer. The officer then fired a single shot at the suspects, hitting one of them.
The 16-year-old who was hit was transported to a local hospital by two men in a red 2006 Pontiac Vibe. The teen is in temporary serious condition and in police custody.
