A teenager convicted of killing a woman will face a judge today, to begin the process to be re-sentenced as an adult.
Demarco Harris was just 12 when he murdered a woman during a 2009 robbery and 13 when he was convicted and sentenced.
The judge ordered him to stay in juvenile detention until he is 21. Since he is close to that birthday, the hearings for a re-sentencing will now begin.
A judge could either find Harris is a changed person and consider releasing him from custody or he will automatically be sentenced as an adult to life in prison without parole.
Prosecutors say he killed Trisha Babcock while trying to rob her. The 24-year-old from Davison was shot to death while sitting in her parked car in Detroit.
