TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Troy police say they busted two teens who allegedly stole several items out of a truck a couple of times last week. According to police, they responded to the 2000 block of Kirkton r. around 8:15 p.m. on Friday after the homeowner saw two suspects enter his 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup.
Police say the homeowner had been a victim of a theft the past Tuesday and Thursday, when the suspects allegedly stole an iPad, a pair of Beats by Dre headphones and meat.
According to police, the man was watching his vehicle when two suspects crossed the street an got inside. He chased them but lost sight of them on Hickory St., an Troy police used their canine, Eli, to find the suspects. He caught them hiding behind a wooden fence.
Police say they suspects are a 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old boy. Both were arrested and charge with larceny from a vehicle, and they admitted to police they had committed other thefts in the area.
Both suspects were released to the mothers' custody after they signed their sons' juvenile petitions which agrees to bring them to court upon notice.
