BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Lapeer County Sheriff's Office says three teens were injured and two were ejected after a rollover crash on Monday afternoon.

According to the sheriff's office, the crash happened on Barnes Rd. east of Merrill Rd. in North Branch around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

We're told a 2001 Chevy Impala driven by a 16-year-old from North Branch lost control and overturned multiple times within a farm field. It eventually came to rest on the wheels.

The 16-year-old driver and a 16-year-old backseat passenger were not wearing seatbelts and ejected from the vehicle when it overturned. A 17-year-old front seat passenger was wearing a seatbelt and was hospitalized but expected to be released from the hospital soon.

Police did have to close the road for several hours to investigate.
