With less than two weeks until Christmas, many people are hoping to get their gift shopping and shipping done in time for Dec. 25.
The United State Post Office is keeping more than a dozen metro Detroit post offices open on Sunday, Dec. 17 in order to meet shipping deadlines and help people out.
"We know this is a hectic time of year for our customers and we want to make mailing holiday cheer easier for everyone," District Manager Lee Thompson said in a release.
On top of your shipping needs, the post offices will also be processing passport applications during the times.
If you plan to ship in time for Christmas, these are the holiday shipping deadlines for the post office.
- First Class Mail (including greeting cards) - Dec. 19
- Priority Mail - Dec. 20
- Priority Mail Express - Dec. 22
