Thieves used a truck to smash and break into a jewelry store in Dearborn overnight.

It happened at NJ Diamonds on the corner of Ford and Schaefer around 4:45 a.m.

The thieves used a stolen truck to smash in the door and get inside. Once inside, one of them used a hammer to smash seven jewelry cases.

Another suspect was waiting outside with a motorcycle, and they used the motorcycle to take off, leaving the truck behind.

We're told the thieves were in and out in less than five minutes.

The owner has been in business for 41 years and planned to retire in two weeks. He said he hopes to have the store back open later this week.
