One company is encouraging people to build their own drones and then crash them over and over again.
Flybrix has introduced a DIY drone kit complete with LEGO bricks. The idea is to get people to engineer their own wonderful creations while learning about technology, engineering and aerodynamics.
According to a news release from the company, it only takes about 15 minutes to assemble a flying machine.
The kit comes with LEGO bricks, quick connect motors and propellers, and an open source flight control circuit board - just to name a few things.
Flybrix was developed by MIT, Caltech and UW Madison grads - and is aimed at helping kids learn STEM skills, according to the company.
The basic kit starts at about $150.
