GULL ISLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) — Thousands of people will head to Gull Island Friday for Jobbie Nooner.

The annual event on Lake St. Clair started in 1980 and is held every year on the Friday before the Fourth of July weekend.
The party-like atmosphere has been compared to other fun events like Mardi Gras.
There were recent rumors stating that the annual event would not happen this year due to record-high water levels, but those rumors were unfounded.
