Three arrested in murder of 17-year-old from Novi who was killed while riding his bike in Westland

(WXYZ) — Police say they have arrested three people in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old from Novi.

Robert Bigham was killed while riding his bicycle. Police have not said what the motive for the murder was.

According to police, they responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Missaukee Ct. and Grand Traverse just before 9 p.m. Sunday.

"I heard two gunshots," said one neighbor who did not share her name. "I came out 2 seconds later and he was already dead on the ground."

Another neighbor described trying to put pressure on his wounds, but being unable to save him.

When officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old shot. They tried to revive himbut were unsuccessful.

Police say they arrested 18-year-old Duan Makeith Jones of Westland, 17-year-old Sarah Jean Jones-Moody of Wayne, and 19-year-old Timothy Dywerr Stevenson Jr. of Detroit on Monday, following an intensive investigation.

Jones has been charged with homicide –murder first degree – premeditated, weapons – discharge from a vehicle causing death, tampering with evidence – Criminal case punishable by more than 10 years, and three counts of felony firearm. He was remanded to jail without bond.

Jones-Moody has been charged with accessory after the fact to a felony, and felony firearm. She was given a $75,000/10% bond and will be required to wear a GPS tether if it is posted.

Stevenson has been charged with larceny from a person and tampering with evidence. He was given a $20,000 cash bond and will be required to wear a GPS tether if it is posted.

They are all due back in court on June 18.
