Police say three suspects robbed Tapper's Diamonds and Fine Jewelry on Orchard Lake just north of Maple in West Bloomfield on Tuesday afternoon.

We're told the three suspects entered the store armed, ordered everyone to the ground and demanded to see Rolex watches and other jewelry. Police say they then took thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

We're told that the three may be connected to another jewelry store robbery in Plainfield Township that also occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Police say four armed men entered Paul Medawar Fine Jewelry, demanded to see Rolex watches and other jewelry, but ended up fleeing after one of the suspects was shot by the store owner.

The targeted jewelry and getaway car match descriptions in both cases.

Investigators say they are looking for three men in a dark-colored Chrysler Town and Country minivan.

Tapper's will open Wednesday for business at 10 a.m.
