Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day. The group, Pet Sitters International, created the non-official holiday back in 1999 as a way to encourage companies to form pet-friendly policies.
A survey conducted last year by the Society for Human Resource Management found that eight percent of American workplaces allow employees to bring pets.
