ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — You may want to take a second look before using a public restroom.
Over the weekend, a Starbucks employee was cleaning the bathroom and found a tiny Wi-Fi camera attached to the underside of the toilet lid, according to Allen Park police.
Police say it appeared as though the camera had only recently been placed, and that at least two victims were filmed while in the restroom.
The videos were found on a SD card. It was a Wi-Fi camera, which could provide a live stream. That means there could be a countless number of men, women and children victimized.
Police say an employee cleaned the bathroom around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon and didn’t notice a camera. The employee came back around 4:30 p.m. and saw the lens attached to the lid, getting a graphic view.

In a Facebook post, officers compared the camera to a pen to show just how small and unnoticeable the device can be.
“When our officers got there, the camera was still on and appeared to be transmitting,” said Detective Jim Thorburn with Allen Park police.
The camera was taped to the inside of a toilet seat. It was on a ribbon connected to a transmitter that was taped on the side of the toilet.
Because the Wi-Fi’s strength, Thorburn believes that the creeper may have been nearby.
“You expect to be safe and you don’t want to be video taped in a bathroom,” he said.
Police tried finger printing the camera equipment but they weren’t able to get a clear print. Detective Thorburn says camera technology is getting smaller and smarter, but they are confident they will catch the criminal.
“It’s not if, it’s when," Thornburn said. "We are going to find you and when we do the penalty will be severe.”
Police are working with Starbucks to view surveillance video in hopes of finding the person responsible.
