(WXYZ) — Thursday will mark the 8th straight day that temperatures have been 90° or higher in metro Detroit, meaning the area is nearing a record run of high temperatures.
Temps Thursday will be around 95°, but with the high humidity will feel more than 100°.
On average, metro Detroit only sees 13 days with temperatures of 90° or more.
The longest stretch of consecutive days of 90° or more happened in 1953 when metro Detroit saw 11 straight days of high temps.
