Townsend Hotel donates furniture to help charity

Posted
Dozens of celebrities have gone in and out the front doors at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham and now the same furniture they used can be yours.

The hotel is renovating its guest rooms and donating furniture to Habitat for Humanity. Desks, lamps, artwork, chairs and tables will be sold at the charity's thrift stores in Pontiac and Farmington. The money will then be used to build affordable houses for low to moderate-income families.

“It’ll generate thousands of dollars which you can imagine will go a long way in building materials and supplies to build these homes," says Caleb Rutledge, Habitat for Humanity.

“I think it’s a great way to start the holiday season and I encourage others to support this and other organizations,” adds Steven Kalczynski, Townsend Hotel managing director.
