HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A traffic stop in Harrison Township turned into a manhunt Saturday morning.
Around 9:15 a.m., troopers made a traffic stop on eastbound I-94 in Harrison Township for expired plates and no insurance. The 34-year-old driver did not have an ID and gave his name verbally, according to MSP.

As the trooper was confirming the information, the driver got out and ran off. He entered a wooded area next to a neighborhood, MSP says.
After a two-hour search, troopers, deputies, a Macomb County K-9 and the Macomb County aviation found the suspect hiding in a heavily wooded area. Once surrounded, the suspect was taken into custody with out incident.
The suspect was found to be a felony fugitive with multiple warrants and placed at the Macomb County Jail.
According to MSP, they will be seeking charges for obstruction, expired plates, suspended license, false information to a police officer and no insurance.
The investigation is now pending prosecutor's review.
