WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened on eastbound I-94 at Ecorse Saturday afternoon.
At around 12:30 noon, troopers received calls about a box truck on fire in a wooded area to the right of a ditch on eastbound I-94 and Ecorse Road in the City of Taylor.
When officials located the driver, the 45-year-old Detroit man was pronounced dead at the scene by the fire department.
According to officials, eastbound I-94 has been shut down at Middlebelt Road for further investigation.
