Troy Police are investigating a 15-year-old student for making comments and implying threats on social media to carry out a school shooting.
Concerned parent Sidra Ali believes these threats or comments are even more upsetting with the climate of the country.
"Scary, given what the political situation is now," Ali says. "These things are happening more often now, so, yes, it is scary for me right now."
School administrators learned about the threats this morning.
Investigators don't believe the 15-year-old had any means to actually carry this out, and no direct threats were made to a certain school.
Some say whether he meant any or harm or not, it's no laughing matter to the Troy High community.
Concerned parent Jay Acharya says, "Even if they say it's a joke, you never know. You're better off taking the precaution."
Extra patrols will be at the high school, and the 15-yearold will not be attending school until this investigation is over.
