Police are investigating a jewelry heist that occurred at Tiffany & Co. in Somerset Collection Monday night.
Police say the heist was "bizarre." The suspect reportedly walked in, pepper-sprayed a security guard, took a hammer to the jewelry case and ran away with goods during open hours.
"Typically, the Tiffany store could have a line of people in there so this was a pretty brazen, bold act for someone to go in there at a busy time of year," said Sgt. Meghan Lehman of Troy Police.
Police did not reveal what exactly was stolen but said it was "likely a significant amount."
