WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — Warren Police have closed westbound I-696 and the westbound Service Drive due to a serious injury accident Tuesday morning.
Police say traffic is closed at the westbound Service Drive at Groesbeck and at Bunert.
A pickup truck and motorcycle got into an accident where the ramp for westbound I-696 east of Groesbeck merges into the expressway. The male motorcyclist collided with the vehicle, ejecting him from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet, police say.
The injured man was taken to local hospital, where he's been listed in "extremely critical" condition in the ICU.
All traffic is being detoured on Groesbeck north and south.
