The GM Renaissance Center in Detroit is pretty big: 5.5 million square feet to be exact.
So, if you're looking for a bite to eat or maybe a bathroom, it's pretty easy to get lost fast.
That's why the RenCen has unveiled its very own app to help people easily navigate around the colossal space.
“The GMRENCEN is an iconic landmark destination in Detroit, but can be overwhelming for first-time visitors,” said Claudia Killeen, manager of Renaissance Center development, General Motors Company, in a statement. “This wayfinder app will maximize the visitor experience by providing clear instructions on how to navigate the building and discover all the great offerings inside the GMRENCEN.”
Using the app, people can pinpoint their location and then request directions to specific spots inside the building like McDonald's or Andiamo Detroit Riverfront. Users can also search general categories like food, restrooms and more.
The GMRenCen Wayfinder app is now available for iOS devices and it’s free.
With 17,000 visitors and employees moving in and out of the RenCen each day, the app is likely to come in handy.
