Two arrested after early-morning chase involving Michigan State Police

(WXYZ) — Two men were arrested after a police chase early Tuesday, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2019 Kia Soul for a traffic violation on I-96 near I-94.

When they checked the registration on their computer, the car came back stolen out of Roseville. The suspect driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

Troopers chased the vehicle on westbound I-96 to Davison where the vehicle exited onto Wyoming from the Davison ramp. Shortly after the vehicle took the exit, the vehicle had a flat tire.

The suspect vehicle eventually lost the front tire, but continue to drive. The suspect lost control and struck a light pole in the intersection of W. Chicago Ave. and Heyden Street.

All three men attempted to run from the car. The driver and one of the passengers were arrested.

Police say a firearm was located in the vehicle. MSP will continue to investigate the incident.
