Two men accused in shooting death of West Bloomfield woman to appear in court

Posted

Two men accused in the shooting death of a West Bloomfield woman will appear in court on Monday morning.

Jaylen Stringer and DeSean Maurice Smith will appear in two separate hearings in different phases of their legal cases.

Stringer, 19, was arrested on Friday. This will be his second  time in front of a judge, charged with tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact.

Smith was the first person arrested in this case. He is charged with arson, felony firearm and open murder.

Police say he's accused of shooting Diana Presserl in the stomach, then putting her in a car and setting that car on fire last Monday.

Neighbors say  they woke up to the ball of fire, left on a basketball court behind the old Pine Lake School on Long Lake Rd., just a few blocks of where Presserl lives.
