Firefighters are investigating some type of explosion inside a Taylor house that has left two people hospitalized.
According to neighbors, a 35-year-old man and his father were inside the home located on Merrick.
It happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday on Merrick in Taylor. It took firefighters about two hours to put out the flames and smoke.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Taylor firefighters.
A dog was killed in the fire.
Another dog was injured but was able to escape.
Animal control is searching for that pet which is now lost.
