2 killed, 8 injured in suspected road rage crash on I-75 in Detroit

Two people were killed and 8 others were injured Saturday morning in a serious crash involving 5 vehicles at I-75 near Mack Avenue in Detroit.

It happened at about 11 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-75. According to police, a 22-year-old woman from Commerce and 23-year-old woman from White Lake were killed.

Police said the preliminary investigation reveals road rage may have caused the crash.

Michael Williams said he was headed downtown when he witnessed the crash. He said he noticed a driver yelling and cutting people off.

"He asked a person, 'Why the "f---" did you do that,'" Williams said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Michigan State Police Metro South Post at 734-287-5000.

The crash is still under investigation.
