Two men shot and killed during shootout outside of Detroit gas station

Detroit police are investigating after two people were shot and killed outside of a gas station early Wednesday morning on the city's west side.

According to police, the shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. in the area of Schaefer and Puritan outside the Clark gas station.

Police say the first victim is a 25-year-old black man and the second a 39-year-old Hispanic man.

According to police, the Hispanic man is currently dating a 25-year-old woman, and agreed to meet the 25-year-old man, the woman's ex boyriend, at the gas station.

When they got there, they got into a heated argument, pulled out guns and shot at each other. The 25-year-old man was shot in the head while the 39-year-old man was shot in the chest. 

After the shootout, both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
