MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Macomb County deputies are investigating two people shot in possible robbery in Mount Clemens Thursday night.

On Aug. 1 around 8:35pm, deputies responded to a residence on the 100 block of Dickinson Avenue for a possible robbery and shots fired.

At the home, deputies found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. The resident, a 41-year-old man, was shot in his leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The second victim, a Roseville 17-year-old, had multiple gunshot wounds to his arm and buttocks. He was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Neither had life-threatening injuries, according to deputies.

After interviewing both victims and several witnesses, police believe the shooting was the result of a narcotics transaction. Two handguns were found at the scene. An amount of marijuana was located in a family vehicle belonging to one of the shooting victims.

The guns were not registered, and neither victim claimed ownership of the handguns.

Macomb County detectives are still investigating the incident and will present their findings to the Macomb County Prosecutors Office when complete.

The handguns will be destroyed, deputies say.
