Two stores robbed at gunpoint after suspects hide in bathroom

Posted

Warren police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred in the same night.

The first robbery happened at the Family Dollar on Van Dyke and East Eight Mile Saturday around 10 p.m.

Police say a man hid in the store until closing then came out, fired shots demanding money.

The second happened about an hour later at the Mcdonald’s on East Eight Mile.

Police say two men hid in a bathroom stall and waited till closing.

An employee says the robbers took the money out of the safe and duck-taped three employees leaving two of them in the refrigerator and one in the bathroom.

Employees say they were easy targets because of a wall that blocks their view.

“We got a big old wall that’s blinding us from the door so we can’t really see what’s coming in,” a victim says.

Police think they may be connected, as of Sunday footage had not been released to police.
