DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police need help identifying two suspects wanted for stealing a dog from a Project Green Light gas station on the city's east side.
On March 17 around 3:52 p.m., a 58-year-old man was standing outside a gas station on Van Dyke with his dog. A male suspect approached the victim in his vehicle, got out and began talking to the victim.
The male suspect started petting the victim's dog, removed the dog's collar and picked him up. When the victim tried to take the dog back, the suspect became aggressive toward him, police say.
A female suspect then approached the victim and tried to assault him while the male suspect place the dog in a blue Ford Explorer, police say. The suspects drove off head eastbound on East 7 Mile.
Police released these suspect and vehicle descriptions:
Suspect 1: Black, male, thin build, wearing glasses, gloves, an army green baseball cap, a dark colored jacket, a dark colored hooded sweat shirt with white strings, and blue jeans.
Suspect 2: Black, female, medium build, wearing, a dark colored and white striped jacket, khaki pants, and brown boots.
Suspect vehicle: 2000, Blue, Ford Explorer, Michigan Plate: DRV4782, with a dent on rear bumper under license plate.
