(WXYZ) — A popular metro Detroit media personality passed away at the age of 87, the Graned Ballroom confirmed Tuesday.
"Uncle" Russ Gibb was a concert promoter who operated the Grande Ballroom, a live music venue in Detroit.

Gibb was best known as a Detroit radio disk jockey on WKNR-FM. He was involved in the infamous"Paul is Dead" rumor back in 1969.
Gibb also taught media production at Dearborn High School toward the end of his career.
No further details were immediately available regarding Gibb's passing.
