One local university announced they will be offering several online courses for free on the edX platform.
The University of Michigan is launching their first four courses on edX beginning this April.
EdX is the brainchild of an MIT and Harvard University collaboration to increase global access to high-quality education.
If you have internet, you have access to more than 650 courses from some of the countries top universities through this massive open online course platform.
U-Mbecame a member of the nonprofit in October, according to the university's press release.
Their courses set to launch in the spring and summer are related to finance, data science ethics, social work and practical learning analytics.
The university notes this is all part of U-M's goal to transform 200 of their courses into Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs.)
