The Macomb County Marine Division rescued a hunter whose canoe capsized in Lake St. Clair several weeks ago.
Dramatic video of the rescue shows the man, dressed in camouflage, holding on to the top of an overturned canoe.
Deputies tossed the man a life ring and pulled him to safety.
The Royal Oak resident told police he was hunting when the wind picked up and his canoe overturned. He was not injured.
The hunter was not wearing a life vest in 8 feet of water.
“As the summer comes to the end, please remember to stay safe. A life jacket can save your life, especially as the weather changes and lake and air temperatures start to drop,” said Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham.
