(WXYZ) — Many viewers are sending Kelly Stafford "get well" wishes on our social media pages.
Stafford posted on Instagram early Thursday morning, writing how much she misses her children while she’s back in the hospital just days after having a brain tumor removed.
Folks were commenting kind words. One particular post stood out.
Karen Melhburg wrote:
“As a brain aneurysm survivor, myself, I was gasping that Kelly was released so soon ! Actually too soon, in my opinion. The trauma she is experiencing is exactly what I experienced while still in the hospital.
I wish you all the best Kelly. Prayers 🙏🏻”
She is closely following Kelly Stafford’s health updates.
“It really is heartbreaking,” Melhburg said.
Fifteen years ago, Melhburg landed in the hospital. Doctors told her she needed brain surgery immediately.
That’s not news she, nor her two teenage kids were expecting to hear.
“They didn’t know whether I was going to pull through this or if they were going to bury me,” Melhburg said.
She says she was in the hospital almost for a month.
“Your children are everything, no matter how old they are,” Melhburg said.
Like Kelly Stafford, she felt bad not being able to be there for her kids.
“I still very much had to do things that moms do,” Melhburg explained. “Not being able to function and be there for them and be in that capacity that you’re familiar with. And comfortable with.”
She has recovered and now lives life to the fullest.
Melhburg wants Kelly Stafford to know that it’s difficult right now, but she must take care of herself first.
