(WXYZ) — When it comes to May, a little sunshine goes a long way and we'll finally get some in the 7 Day Forecast. After a cloudy and rainy weekend, temps will begin to bounce back to the upper 60s and 70s once the sunshine returns Tuesday. This is just the start of a warmer pattern taking us through mid May into June.
Pattern Brings More Rain
Although this pattern is welcomed, it does bring the threat for more rain and storms in the coming days. Based on averages, metro Detroit is approaching peak severe weather season (Late May - Early June) and right on cue, this warm up will not be a dry one. A stationary boundary will be in the vicinity of Michigan for a couple of days starting this weekend. With this boundary in place, we'll see multiple chances of rain and storms - which could turn severe if the boundary lifts as a warm front. The window for much of this rain to fall will be Friday - Next Tuesday.
