WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — A metro Detroit mom reached out to 7 Action News after complaints about the condition of her apartment went unanswered.
Our Andrea Isom went to Huntington Club Apartments in Warren, where she met Destiny Evans at her home.
Destiny pointed out problems with the heat, forcing her to use to stove for her and her family to stay warm. She also told 7 Action News, about her windows not locking, mold on the window seal, a broken front door and broken blinds.
Andrea went looking for answers. Corporate tells us they were not aware of the issues and promised to address them and they did.
For three days maintenance crews have been at Destiny's apartment fixing the problems. She was also offered something for her inconvenience.
"They said they will wipe away my December rent and cover my amount. They even offered to go to another property and just move me in. It should not have taken me calling your channel 7 to get them to do it. I'm satisfied and happy," she says with a smile.

A Note From Huntington Club Management:
The office team at Huntington Club sent out a resident letter and survey proactively asking all residents to send in any work orders they have in their apartment; as we have already addressed all work orders currently in the system. Moreover, we scheduled resident roundtable meetings for later this month to solicit resident feedback and answer questions. In addition, we are meeting directly in the apartment home of the resident you highlighted to address her concerns.
Huntington Club is about to embark on a very ambitious, multi-million dollar renovation project in 2019. We hope you will consider coming back to visit us once it is complete. In the meantime, we will continue to work hard every day providing a safe, clean and comfortable home to our valued residents.
