WASHTENAW CO. (WXYZ) — A complaint has been filed against a Washtenaw County deputy, accusing him of criminal sexual conduct and domestic violence.

Dangelo McWilliams, who joined the sheriff’s office as a deputy in May 2019, is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and domestic violence.

Investigators say the crimes happened at a fraternity house in Ypsilanti between Oct. 1, 2016 and January 2018.

The fraternity provided a statement saying, “Delta Tau Delta is aware a former member of the chapter at Eastern Michigan University has been charged with several criminal offenses. As this is an open matter before the court, Delta Tau Delta and the Theta Xi Chapter will refrain from any comment until the conclusion of legal proceedings.”

This comes after EMU graduate Dustyn Michael Durbin was also charged with nine counts of criminal sexual conduct with seven different women between 2014 and 2019. During his arraignment last week, prosecutors said he also studied to go into law enforcement.

Seven Action News asked investigators about any relationship between the two complaints and were told "no comment" would be provided.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office tells 7 Action News Deputy McWilliams was put on administrative leave without pay when it became aware of the charges filed against him. His attorney says he is not guilty.
