The April Millsap murder trial has resumed for testimony Friday.

James VanCallis is accused of murdering the 14-year-old back in July of 2014. He's charged with first degree murder, kidnapping and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.

The day she was killed, April Millsap was out walking her dog, Penny, on the Macomb Orchard trail in Armada.

In court on Friday, jurors heard from a FBI Violent Crimes Task Force agent and an expert on cell phones and computers who analyzed Millsap's phone.

Jurors also heard from a Michigan State Police crime lap technician and VanCallis' ex-girlfriend.

On the stand, his ex-girlfriend Crystal Stadler said VanCallis was very controlling and even wouldn't let her have her phone or computer. She also said she woke up in the middle of the night the night of the murder and saw him cleaning his shoes.
