The suspect accused in the carjacking and shooting of an 81-year-old man appeared in court for arraignment on a number of charges Tuesday afternoon.

Corey Kelvin Hill, 25, and another man grabbed 81-year-old Herman Garth while he was leaving a convenience store on Joy Road around 1:30 a.m. on August 30.

Hill is then accused of pulling out a gun and demanding money and car keys. After the victim complied, it is alleged Hill shot him and drove away in the victim's car.

The other man reportedly fled on foot.

The victim was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

Hill will be back in court on September 20 at 8:30 a.m.
