Less than a week after the Spirit of Detroit was outfitted with a University of Michigan shirt in honor of the university's 200th anniversary, the statue got a new shirt on Thursday.
Early Thursday morning, crews were seen putting on a shirt for The United Way of Southeastern Michigan.
Designed by Prop Art Studio in Detroit, the "Live United" shirt will honor United Way's 100 years of service to Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties around health, education and economic prosperity.
The shirt was created with 28 yards of fabric and took about 15 man hours to sew the 3-pound shirt together.
