When you think cop car, you generally think of the light bar that’s mounted on top of the vehicle.
But what if there were a stealthier option?
Ford is aiming to help police officers be a little more discreet on the roads.
Instead of mounted on the roof of the vehicle, the automaker hasintroduced a new light bar that will be low profile, integrated at the top of the windshield.
Ford notes on their website that this new interior visor light bar will provide better visibility for drivers than aftermarket options currently available.
The shade band at the top of the windshield is replaced with clear glass so the colors flash bright when it comes time for officers to make their presence known.
The automaker says the light can be programmed, too, in case officers need more of a spotlight feature while they’re on a scene.
This new visor light option is available for order on their 2017 Ford Police Interceptor Utility.
