GARDEN CITY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Water service has been interrupted in Garden City due to work by the Great Lakes Water Authority.

The city says that when water is restored, it could result in brown water. The city is asking residents to check their water before doing laundry or avoid doing laundry at all if they see any discoloration in their water.

Running faucets if you see brown water after the water work is complete will eliminate the problem.

The city says the water is not harmful.
