DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office announced the launch of a new podcast that will talk about the work it does and debunk myths around forensic pathology.

The podcast is called "Detroit's Daily Docket" and launched on Friday and is in partnership with the University of Michigan.

It will feature four medical examiners from the office: Drs. Leigh Hlavaty, LokMan Sung, Milad Webb, and Omar Rayes. Each works as a professor at the University of Michigan School of Pathology.

“The field of pathology is often misunderstood in popular culture which perpetuates the misconceptions dealing with the science,” Chief Medical Examiner Hlavaty said. “But we believe that if we can share the study of discovery, each case will tell a fascinating story of life.”

According to the university, the podcast will not cover current our local cases out of respect and privacy for the families.

They say the podcast will provide educational and information content, from the process of autopsies and determining the cause and manner of death, to reviewing details around groundbreaking and notable cases.

You can subscribe to the podcast on Apple Music, GooglePlay Music, Spotify and Pandora.
