A Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy is facing serious allegations of sexual conduct with a minor.

The deputy is facing three counts of first degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a person under 13-years-old and one count of second degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a person under 13-years-old.

7 Action News is not naming the deputy because he has not been officially charged.

Brownstown Township Police detectives are handling the case.

7 Action News found the deputy’s home in Brownstown and talked to neighbors who are shocked.

"I'm just stunned, I'm usually not speechless, but I'm totally speechless,” said Paul Gyorke who has lived a door down from the deputy for the last six years.

"Been a great neighbor, he's helped me take out trees out of my backyard, if anybody needs anything he's always the first one to come over,” said Gyroke.

The deputy has been with Wayne County since 1995.

"It helped us feel safe in the neighborhood, because he was a Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy, we knew he was around here,” said Gyorke.

The charges stem from incidents dating back to 2008

All of the news just doesn’t add up to Gyorke who said he’s used to seeing the deputy walking in the neighborhood with his wife and daughter.

"Never would have thought, in a 100 years, never would have thought that,” said Gyorke.
