A 19-year-old Wayne State University student was robbed after leaving Dally in The Alley Saturday night.

Campus police say the student and her friend had just left the event around 11 p.m. and were walking back to their car, which was parked in front of the school's Matthaei building.

They had just crossed over the footbridge over the Lodge Freeway when two men walked up to them. One man asked to use their phone, and the victim handed over her iPhone.

Police say the man took the phone and began walking away with it, southbound on the Lodge Service Drive. The victim asked for her phone back, but the man kept walking. Police say the victim began following the man, who had her phone, and he said, "Don't follow me, I got a gun."

The victim continued to follow the two men until they reached the Freedom Place housing complex when they stopped following the men. Police say no weapon was seen and neither woman was injured.

Officers searched the area around the complex but were not able to locate the men.

The first suspect is described by police as a black man, aged 18 to 20 years old, who was 6 feet tall with a thin build and very short hair, wearing gray sweatpants and a gray hoodie.

Police describe the second suspect as a black man, also aged 18 to 20 years old, with very short hair wearing all black clothing.
